about!
who //
carson bayley crooks is an artist based out of philadelphia. their work revolves around investigating distortions of time and space, dissociative states, and mindscapes.
Time is a key theme in many of my pieces, exploring how we as individuals tend to view it in the same way that we are trapped inside of it - having a past, present and future. Instead, I urge viewers to disentangle themselves from that narrative, to experience it as a cyclical and non-linear engine that can be moved through at will. With this in mind, observing memories and the emotions attached to them is our biggest tool in gaining understanding of ourselves. Ever changing and fluid, self-perception is fueled by the manner in which we approach it.
